Hey horror fans! Remember when Until Dawn was stuck on PS4 back in 2015? Well, guess what – it’s finally hit PC! Been playing it non-stop since the port dropped, and I gotta say, Supermassive Games really nailed the conversion.

They teamed up with Nixxes (the same folks who did those amazing Spider-Man PC ports) to make this happen. The game cost them around $40 million to make originally, and you can really see where that money went – especially now with the enhanced PC graphics.

If you haven’t played it yet, you’re in for a treat. The whole thing’s set on this creepy mountain where a bunch of friends meet up for a winter getaway. Sounds like every horror movie ever, right? But here’s the cool part – everything you do changes how the story plays out. Check out what IGN said about it – they loved how your choices actually matter. Like, I got most of my group killed on my first run (sorry, Mike!), but my second playthrough? Totally different story.

The writing team (Larry Fessenden and Graham Reznick) really knew their horror stuff – you can tell they watched a lot of classic horror films while making this.

The PC version’s been getting great feedback on Metacritic. They’ve added proper ultrawide support (finally!), uncapped the framerate, and the ray tracing makes those dark corridors look even creepier. Plus, all those annoying PS4 loading times? Gone if you’re running it on an SSD. Just make sure you’ve got enough space – this thing’s pretty big with all the high-res textures.

I’ve tested this on different PCs, here’s what you need:

Minimum Specs:

Processor needs at least i5-8400 or Ryzen 5 2600 – physics are demanding

Memory must be 12GB – tried 8GB and got nasty stutters

Graphics card GTX 1060 6GB minimum – expect medium settings

Storage needs 70GB (yeah it’s huge) – get an SSD if possible

System must be Windows 10 with 2019 update

How to Download and Install Until Dawn PC

Download the CODEX release (Until_Dawn_PC_CODEX.iso)

Extract using WinRAR or 7-Zip

Find setup.exe in the folder

Choose install location (SSD recommended)

Wait about 30 mins – good time for a coffee break
